Richard Powers, M.D., Board Member of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Joins the Florida Alzheimer's Summit 2003 as a Key Speaker

NEW YORK, NY - FLORIDA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HOUSE SPEAKER JOHNNIE B. BYRD, JR. WILL INTRODUCE DR. RICHARD POWERS, THE DIRECTOR OF BUREAU OF GERIATRICS FOR THE STATE OF ALABAMA'S DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND MENTAL RETARDATION, AT THE FLORIDA ALZHEIMER'S SUMMIT 2003 FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH 11:15 AM, HOUSE OFFICE BUILDING, 402 SOUTH MONROE STREET, TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA. THE SUMMIT TWO-DAY SUMMIT WILL ADDRESS THE CAREGIVING AND SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITIES, AND THE NEEDS OF ALZHEIMER'S PATIENTS.

AN ESTIMATED FOUR TO FIVE MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES ARE AFFLICTED WITH THE UNCURABLE ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE. ONE IN EVERY 10 PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 65 ARE AFFECTED.
