Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation Forms Strategic Partnership with Alzheimer's Foundation of America; Alliance Provides Expert Services, Resources to Alzheimer's Community
MIAMI, FL – Sept. 3, 2003 - The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) announced today they have formed a strategic partnership. The alliance will build on the similar missions of both organizations: to provide quality services that support those coping daily with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses. Both groups emphasize early diagnosis for individuals suffering from memory disorders, and optimal “care” for individuals with the disease, as well as their caregivers and other family members.
The two foundations plan to exchange board members; collaborate on programs, advocacy and fundraising campaigns; and participate in each other's events.
“The timing is perfect for this alliance,” said Leeza Gibbons, founder and board chair of the Memory Foundation. “Both organizations are growing rapidly due in part to answering the urgent need in the community for services and programs to help with the day-to-day struggles that come with memory disorders.”
“We are pleased to collaborate with an organization like the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation that shares our vision and commitment to those struggling with dementia, and their families,” said Bert Brodsky, chairman of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. “This relationship further strengthens our resolve to enhance the level of care and emotional support for these individuals, and to bring the need for supportive services to the national forefront.”
