ALZHEIMER’S FOUNDATION OF AMERICA OFFERS TIPS TO KEEP THE CHEER IN THE HOLIDAYS
NEW YORK (December 18, 2013) — Holiday help is here! The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) today released a new infographic that offers tips to help caregivers modify holiday routines and create new traditions that embrace the abilities of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses, reduce stress for themselves and their loved ones—and keep the cheer in the holidays.
Some of the suggestions include minimizing decorations and clutter; altering traditions, such as attending religious services or serving the big meal earlier in the day; and participating in activities geared toward stimulating memories, such as singing, listening to music and looking through old photographs.
